Auction Schedule & How to Bid
How to Buy at Auction
in-person bidding
Register for the auction during the auction preview, which takes place the night before and at least two hours before each auction session. During this time, you will be assigned a bidding number and can view the items or speak directly to our experts.
After successfully bidding and winning an auctioned item, you may check out and pick it up. Visit the auction office again to get your printed invoice. Once the item is paid in full, you will receive your pick-up slip and be directed to the designated pick-up area. Then, you can take the item with you or make shipping arrangements.
phone bidding
The form in the back of the auction catalog can also be used for phone bidding. No bid amount is needed, as you will be on the phone, live at the auction with one of our trained staff members.
However, if you’re traveling and unsure if you’ll be able to be reached, we encourage you to leave an “emergency bid,” which is your top bid amount for our staff to bid up to on your behalf.
online bidding
With online bidding, you can watch each lot as it comes up for sale and watch the bidding increments. Registration is free and there is no obligation to buy — you can even choose to merely watch the entire auction.
absentee bidding
An absentee bidding form is provided in the back of the auction catalog. Complete the form and either mail or fax it to our office at: PO Box 1170, St. Michaels, MD 21663 Fax: 410-745-0487.
You may also call our offices and place your absentee bid over the phone with a member of our knowledgeable staff. Absentee bids are accepted up until the auction begins.
Whether you’re looking to buy or sell, our team is here to help.
